Saying Good-bye

Tonight we tell the dudes that we are moving. That makes me sad. For over a year now, we have had D.U.D.E. at our house on Sunday nights. It stands for Developing Ultimate Disciples Early. It has been quite the adventure with these kids. God has done some really incredible things on Sunday nights, things that if I described them would sound insane to most people. I'll just say that God has touched the lives of these children in really cool ways. Devon and I believe that these kids are one of the main reasons we came to Taber. Next week will be the last D.U.D.E. I'm almost crying right now.

When God first told me that I was to be the kids "pastor", I thought that He was insane. I have never really bonded with children ever. I guess it's because I never hung out with them. Now I most definately love children, (which is a good thing since I am a mother now), and I would say that I have a passion to see them 'know' God. And to see them pursue Him in ways adults shy away from because of their unbelief and religiousity.

Well, the kids are about to invade our home once again. Here's to them and a prayer that the seeds that were planted would grow as they do.

Edmonton Bound

It would seem our time is nearing to a close here in Taber. It was short, but good. When God called us here, he said to me that it would be for a very short time but he would teach me some things. I'd say that his statement proved very true.

So Edmonton you say? Well it all started when we took a trip to the Miracle Channel to sit in the audience at a taping of Kris Vallotton from Redding California. At the end of it, we asked him and his wife if they would pray for us. They did and the first thing out of his mouth was, "Winds of change, I see a windsock blowing north." Then we get an e-mail from a friend of ours in Edmonton who has a dream of himself and Devon walking in a city, and an angel hands him a telegram that says, "Tell Devon he's moving soon." Craziness! When we got the word from Kris, our first thought was Edmonton, and Devon has had Edmonton on his heart for a few years now. I love how God confirms his words.

So we are going to be taking a break from ministry for a while. And then we will see what doors God opens up for us there. I have a real excitement in my spirit about this all. More than I've had in a long, long time. I know what God has for us is going to be something that will make us both come alive. I get the sense that we will just fit there. And for Dev and I that is quite unusual.

Some cool things that I am looking forward to is living in the same vicinity as my oldest sister Jodi, her husband Rob, and my nephew Ryan. And living in the same city as the Mumby's. A very great family that I am really looking forward to spending some time with. I am looking forward to finding our own place to live, this will be a first for me, and setting up home. I am excited to once again be living in a city where there is good coffee. Dev and I are coffee snobs. We like to hang out at cool coffee houses and drink the expensive brew. It was our dating life, and it will be nice to do that again. I am also looking forward to having an income.

We have an income at the moment, but as most of you know we went 11 months without an income. And I have to say it was one great way to grow. It was a God ordained thing, and I am happy to say that we passed the test. We had provision that blew us away at times, that with an income, we would never have seen. We were given Sparrow's bedroom suite, and basically everything a baby needs and more. We were given a trip to Kansas City, a house to live in where we only paid utilities. We were given a Car! We were given a Piano, and a digital camera! A 3-D ultrasound and chirstmas gifts galore! Food randomly came to our door... usually cooked. We were also given health benefits, and a dishwasher, and not to mention, paint and painters for Sparrow's beautiful baby room that I am very sad to leave behind. I shall cry when we have to leave this place.

I shouldn't start, we have met some really great people that I will be sad to leave, however there is one solace there. We shall meet again.

This is what I live. I roam the earth, and live and love, I say hello and then good-bye, yet life will take us all to the same road in the end. Heaven... my real home.

I finally get to write!

The only time I can actually sit down and write is when everyone else is in bed. I should be too, but it's been a while, and I wanted to update my blog.

Today I went to the Dentist. I got my teeth checked and cleaned, and it's probably been 5 or 6 years. I have never had a cavity, and I still hold that record! My gums are a little sore from the cleaning, but it's my fault, I hardly ever floss. Flossing is just one of those things that I have just never been able to get in the habit of doing. Kind of like exercising. I start with good intentions and then take a break and forget to pick it back up again. What's that saying? "The road to hell is paved with good intentions."

Speaking of hell, it's been rather hot outside lately. My dear husband has been working as of late, and to make matters more hellish, is sandblasting oil truck tanks ON THE INSIDE. I can't imagine how hot and dusty it would be inside one of those things doing what he's doing. Props to Devon. It's been a week now that he's had this job, and it's not great fun or anything, but it's paying the bills, and giving us a chance to do things like go to the dentist, and buy a bite to eat every once in a while. Although I have to say the whole time we didn't have an income, we sure didn't suffer. We went out to eat quite a bit. Many people have taken us out to a restaurant in the last year, and I am very grateful.

God released Devon to work about 2 months ago, and it's neat to see God provide the jobs for him. The first job was working for our friend Shawn Scotney. One morning Devon was talking to God about getting a job, and if he wanted him to work, that he would have to hand him the right job. That night, Shawn asked him if he was interested in working for him for a short while. Dev was like, "I have to pray about it... I think." Sometimes God answers prayer really fast. This job, we went to the Career Resource Center and Dev was looking in the job bank. He faxed his resume to Ar Tech Coating and when we got home the phone rang for him to go for an interview. He started the next day. Pretty darn cool I think.

In mommy land Sparrow is growing like a Sunflower. She's bright and beautiful and smiles quite frequently. She smiles at everyone new that she meets, and puts on quite a performance. Today she had all the ladies at the library gawking and swooning over her. They thanked me for bringing her in cause she made their day. I think I've got a little world changer on my hands. She definately brings joy into the lives of everyone who meets her.

Well, I really should hit the hay. It's been a slice. Nighty night night.
