Seize the Day
We are getting older these days. This weekend, we are headed off to Okotoks for Devon's 10 year high school reunion. Although it seems like an eternity since high school for me, it is still kind of shocking that my own reunion will be next year. In high school the very thought of a 10 year reunion sounded as if I'd be old and married with kids. Ummm.... ya I guess that fits my description, but didn't 28 sound a lot older at age 18 than it actually is in reality?
Anyways, another up and coming event that is making me feel older is that my baby sister is getting married next week. She's like 6 years younger than I am and I got married 1 and a half years ago. Holy Smokes! Kids get married so young these days. I am only joking, she is nearly 23, and she dated this guy for 4 years, so I think a wedding is only fitting after that much time. I don't think Devon and I even dated. We just went from being friends to engaged. One day I'll have to journal the whole story. It makes me smile to think about how God put us together.
Wow, I can't believe how life can change so much in just a few years time. Or I guess I should say 2 years, cause that is what I meant. Devon and I have this discussion all the time about the word "few". I think it can mean 2 or 3. He thinks it means 3 or 4 or 5, but definately not 2. I think it is such a miniscule difference that it can mean 2. Anyways, life can look so different in just a few years. 2 years ago I was single and didn't have a really, really cute baby girl. 2 years ago I was living out at Eagles Nest Ranch in a room the size of the bathroom I have now. 2 years ago I thought I would be living in Europe or Africa, and I am in small town Taber, Alberta, where my mother was born. I guess I'm just all that much closer to living across the world.
Who knows what the next 2 years will hold. I'm kind of excited just thinking about it. I know one thing, I will be 2 more years older, my 20 year high school reunion will be on it's way, and life will have flown by even faster than the last 10 years. I really will be old and married with children. Maybe I should take the theme of my graduation seriously; "Carpe Diem" or "Seize the Day".
Devon Loves His Pillow
Last night or rather early, early morning I finally got to bed, and Devon was asleep of course now that he's a working man. I climb into bed and he shifts a bit, and I hear him making kissing noises. I start laughing and it wakes him up. I ask him, "are you kissing yourself?" And he says in a disgusted voice, "No, I am... hah, I'm kissing my pillow. I thought I was kissing Sparrow." The guy was dreaming about kissing his daughter and literally kissed his pillow like 10 times. We had a good laugh about it this morning.
I don't have a whole lot more to say, but I just had to embarrass him by writing about his love affair with his pillow on my blog.
Creation Calls

Tonight I am enjoying my view from the office window. Outside right now the moon appears to be shining in all it's glory. It is actually beckoning me to fall in love with it's Creator again. Tonight it reminds me of the night I gazed upon it in the African sky, and fell in love with Jesus all over. It was one of my favorite times with Him ever, and He says it was one of His as well. I asked Him that night with awe and wonder, "WHO ARE YOU?" He spoke of things that made my heart beat louder and stronger. Creation is amazing as it calls to us and makes us believe. Tonight my heart believes as I behold the moon. Tonight I revisit an encounter with the Creator that changed me forever. And as I gaze at the moon again tonight, I fall in love with Him all over again.
Another glance at Sparrow

Weirder things have happened I think...
So our computer was down, and I would like to use that as my excuse as to why I haven't posted in a while, but the truth is I have gotten a bit lazy with it. I am doing well, and so is my family. Sparrow is growing like a bad weed. She is in 3-6 month clothing already and she is only 2 months old.
Devon's best-man from our wedding was back in Canada this weekend. Daniel is his name. He is origianlly from Tanzania, Africa and after a few years in Canada has gone back and is doing great things for God. We had an amazing but short visit with him this past weekend, and heard some crazy wierd stories of the things he is experiencing there. Things like naked witches falling from the sky onto the stage of an open air meeting, who then want to know the God who knocked them out of the spirit realm into the natural. And how the radio announcer heard from God about a man who just got back from Canada and is working for the Lord, and over the air asked for that man to come visit him. So Daniel went and is now on the radio twice a week reaching millions of people. He will be starting an orphanage there as well as soon as the legalities are done being processed. Please pray for Daniel and his wife Irene and their baby girl, Cherisse. They are being very effective in the kingdom and are in need of God's protection. Devon and I really want to go and visit Daniel and Irene and help them in their ministry there.
Anyways, I really want to post some more photos of Sparrow, but it is not working at the moment. Arrrgghh... I'll try again another day.
