Sparrow in Shades

They are a bit big, but Grandpa couldn't resist. I think she's adorably hilarious.
Sweet Merciful Crap... we live in Edmonton!!!
We have officially been here for a week now. Weird. It is weird but it's not at the same time. We are settling in quite nicely. Dev started work today, and Sparrow and I went for a walk to check out the area and stop for some groceries. First we went to the "Foody Mart" but it was quite a dive, and I wasn't too into buying foody there. Our apartment is nice, small but open so it doesn't feel all that small. Saturday night we heard our upstairs neighbors partying 'till all hours in the morning. If it happens every weekend, I will be calling our landlord.
I am getting pretty good at putting my foot down these days. Super Sweet Kristi is the girl of the past. When we were dropping our U-Haul off, the guy recieving it decided that we should bring the truck somewhere else, as his shop was very full and there was not much room left. Well,
I decided that we were not going to drive the truck anywhere else in the city, as I had been following behind Devon in the car as he drove a truck that had no brake lights or turning signals. Besides we were instructed to bring the truck there when we picked up the truck. I told him that we were not going to bring the truck anywhere else. He looked at me in shock and said, "well you're sure nice." (You don't ask a woman who is a new mother that has just packed up a house and moved 500 miles to drive all over a city that she doesn't know following a truck that has no lights). I guess he didn't know that.
The stress level is down now that we have unpacked and settled in. I am looking forward to getting to know the awesome people that we already met and many more. We know the church we are going to as well as the home group. Everything has just fallen into place for us already, and as we are taking a break from "ministry" we are looking forward to what God has for us here in Edmonton.
It's great being close to my oldest sister too. We have probably seen her and her son 4 or 5 times already. It's nice for Sparrow to grow up with her cousin Ryan as well. He has A LOT of energy and keeps Sparrow quite occupied. I just don't have that kind of energy to entertain my daughter all day long, whereas Ryan mostly never stops. It's great!
Well, I need to get my daughter to bed so that I too can catch up on some much needed sleep.
