Seize the Day

We are getting older these days. This weekend, we are headed off to Okotoks for Devon's 10 year high school reunion. Although it seems like an eternity since high school for me, it is still kind of shocking that my own reunion will be next year. In high school the very thought of a 10 year reunion sounded as if I'd be old and married with kids. Ummm.... ya I guess that fits my description, but didn't 28 sound a lot older at age 18 than it actually is in reality?

Anyways, another up and coming event that is making me feel older is that my baby sister is getting married next week. She's like 6 years younger than I am and I got married 1 and a half years ago. Holy Smokes! Kids get married so young these days. I am only joking, she is nearly 23, and she dated this guy for 4 years, so I think a wedding is only fitting after that much time. I don't think Devon and I even dated. We just went from being friends to engaged. One day I'll have to journal the whole story. It makes me smile to think about how God put us together.

Wow, I can't believe how life can change so much in just a few years time. Or I guess I should say 2 years, cause that is what I meant. Devon and I have this discussion all the time about the word "few". I think it can mean 2 or 3. He thinks it means 3 or 4 or 5, but definately not 2. I think it is such a miniscule difference that it can mean 2. Anyways, life can look so different in just a few years. 2 years ago I was single and didn't have a really, really cute baby girl. 2 years ago I was living out at Eagles Nest Ranch in a room the size of the bathroom I have now. 2 years ago I thought I would be living in Europe or Africa, and I am in small town Taber, Alberta, where my mother was born. I guess I'm just all that much closer to living across the world.

Who knows what the next 2 years will hold. I'm kind of excited just thinking about it. I know one thing, I will be 2 more years older, my 20 year high school reunion will be on it's way, and life will have flown by even faster than the last 10 years. I really will be old and married with children. Maybe I should take the theme of my graduation seriously; "Carpe Diem" or "Seize the Day".
